History and Expertise

In 1945, Michael J LaViano opened a modest watchmaker’s salon in Westwood NJ. It wasn’t long before he became a trusted craftsman in the community and expanded into jewelry restoration. Almost a century later our reputation and our footprint has grown in Westwood – and into a second location in Warwick NY, opening fall of 2020. Rightfully, the impetus behind LaViano Jewelers was the exceptional service and quality repairs provided by Michael J LaViano - the foundation upon which our multi-generation business was built.

Like any trade, quality of work is dependent on skilled craftsmen. Our craftsmen are the finest in the business – all employed by LaViano and working onsite at our state-of-the-art facility. This combination of old-world craftsmanship and innovative equipment ensures repairs of jewelry to its original condition. With innovations like modern laser soldering, we can work on the most delicate family heirlooms. We guarantee all work and price every job before beginning – assuring customer satisfaction.

Our approach to jewelry restoration is that of a doctor - “do no harm.” Restoring fine jewelry and vintage timepieces take a tradesman with a delicate hand, and extensive knowledge of vintage workmanship. This knowledge can only be realized through decades of practice. We are confident when advising on repairs and restorations - and will not engage if we believe it to be misguided. We stand behind every piece we touch, treat your belongings as our own, and guarantee them returned to you renewed and revitalized.

We are three generations of jewelers, providing quality workmanship in Bergen County. We appreciate the opportunity to help preserve your most cherished possessions.
